CRYSTAL HEART

CIA AGENT MAX BENNETT RETURNS TO THE FIELD TO FACE OFF AGAINST A SHADOWY, COMPUTER-WORSHIPPING CULT IN THE ONCE QUIET TOWN OF WOODQUAY. IN SEARCH OF A MISSING AGENCY SCIENTIST, AGENT BENNETT UNWINDS A SHADOWY CONSPIRACY INVOLVING THE POLICE, THE CIA AND THE GOVERNMENT ITSELF.

PREMISE

Agent Bennett has been recouped from his early retirement by the Department of Metaphysical Occurences (DMO) tasked with locating and recovering missing DMO scientist Dr.Reinhard Weaver and his crew of 4 DMO agents. Deployed to the remote former mining town with a pistol and a flashlight, Agent Bennett discovers that the residents have turned violent and psychotic, attacking without discretion. The few 'sane' individuals that remain are wound up in the obsessions of the cult; the Children of the Celestial Machine. 

ABOUT

I created CRYSTAL HEART as my final year project in Game Design in ATU Galway. The game is a third-person shooter, with an emphasis on creating a 3D world- exteriors and interiors- for the story to take place, as well as a compelling narrative, cinematic visuals, a haunting atmosphere, and a detailed soundscape.  

I'm very happy with how the project has turned out now that the submission is complete. Bugs and jankiness are, of course, present. I intend to iron out more bugs and improve the ease-of-use of some mechanics in the coming weeks, before leaving the project as it is.
